This International Women's Day our Senior Case Manager for Modern Slavery, Eleni Argy, was invited to deliver a speech on the Honour My Choice program at Verona School, Yennora.
Eleni was incredibly impressed with the behaviour and respect shown by the Verona students who engaged with the sensitive topic of forced marriage with empathy and understanding.
Our Honour My Choice program provides essential support and guidance to selected high schools and community service organisations who are working in the front line with children and young people who may be at risk of or experiencing a forced marriage.
A unique element of the Honour My Choice program is a tailored syllabus unit for selected high schools on "Modern Slavery, Forced Marriage and Healthy Relationships" currently being delivered for years 9 through 12 in the South-West Sydney region.
