Commitment to Reconciliation
At Taldumande Youth Services, reconciliation is more than words, it is about meaningful action that creates real change. Our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) is our commitment to acknowledging the histories, cultures and contributions of First Nations peoples. It guides us in building respectful relationships, deepening cultural knowledge and awareness, and creating genuine opportunities for positive change within our organisation and the wider community.

Why our RAP Matters
Our RAP is a meaningful commitment to real change. It represents:
- Commitment to Reconciliation – Strengthening relationships with First Nations peoples
- Addressing Historical Injustices – Acknowledging the past and working towards healing
- Promoting Diversity and Inclusion – Embedding First Nations perspectives across our organisation
- Enhancing Service Delivery – Ensuring culturally safe and responsive support for young people and our staff
- Leadership and Accountability – Holding ourselves responsible for creating lasting impact
Our RAP Journey
In early 2024, we established a RAP Committee to lead our reconciliation efforts, ensuring they are thoughtful, inclusive and action-driven. In November 2024, our RAP was formally endorsed by Reconciliation Australia, marking a significant milestone in our journey towards meaningful reconciliation.

A Message from our Leadership
As the CEO and Chairperson of Taldumande Youth Services, we are proud to launch our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) as a key step in our commitment to reconciliation with First Nations peoples.
We acknowledge the histories, cultures and contributions of First Nations peoples, and we are dedicated to building meaningful relationships, fostering respect and promoting inclusion. Through our RAP, we pledge to embed First Nations perspectives into our work, enhance cultural awareness and collaborate with communities to ensure our actions are guided by their voices.
With humility and determination, we move forward together, knowing that true reconciliation is built on partnership, respect and action.
