Multiplex, the leading international construction contractor, has fully renovated a kitchen at one of the houses for homeless young people operated by Taldumande Youth Services on the Northern Beaches.
Not only did Multiplex carry out an excellent renovation of the kitchen, they also coordinated some of their partners to provide a new stove, refrigerator and barbecue which was a wonderful surprise for Taldumande and the young people living there.
Multiplex Regional Director Brendan Sweeney said that the project came about after Multiplex graduates saw an opportunity to use their construction expertise to support Taldumande’s much-needed youth accommodation services.
“At Multiplex we always challenge ourselves to think about the most powerful way to create value for our projects and beyond, so we were thrilled to be able to support the great work Taldumande does for the local community with this kitchen refurbishment,” said Mr Sweeney.
“We’re incredibly proud to see what our team of graduates and subcontractors have accomplished and look forward to continuing our relationship with Taldumande.”
The homeless young people being cared for at the house are enjoying the new kitchen with one of them saying: “We really love the new kitchen. We actually get excited about cooking now! We’ve learned lots of new recipes from the youth workers. We cooked chicken pad thai this week which was really yummy.”
Multiplex has generously offered to renovate kitchens and bathrooms in several of Taldumande’s other properties on the Northern Beaches which is a great outcome for the homeless young people who are accommodated there.
