National Homeless Persons' Week

Taldumande staff were out in full force to promote this important week - August 1-7

On Friday 5^th August staff earned money for Australia’s homeless by simply buying a cup of coffee at Bean Drinking in Crows Nest.  Along with a number of other cafe’s, Bean Drinking donated $1 from every coffee sold towards StreetSmart’s ‘Cafe Smart’ campaign, which ran on Friday 5^th in support of National Homeless Persons’ Week.  StreetSmart support grassroots organisations like Taldumande, with funding for vital projects.  Last April we received a $3,000 grant for our Brokerage program, which provides financial assistance for the young people in our care to achieve their goals in education, employment or personal development.

On Wednesday 3^rd August they also joined other local homeless support services in “The Lower North Shore Homeless Hub”, at the Dougherty Community Centre in Chatswood.  The service participants provided the much needed information to help those experiencing homelessness either directly or indirectly, and was well received.
