Chairman - Michael Morton-Evans OAM JP

Michael Morton Evans

Chairman - Michael Morton-Evans has been the Chairman since 1996.  During this period the organisation has undertaken extensive restructures.
Michael was awarded the Order of Australia in the June 2008 Queen’s Birthday Honours List for his work for disadvantaged youth.  With a Graduate Diploma in Social Ecology from the University of Western Sydney (his thesis was on the formation of the Youth Parent Advisory Council of which he was the inaugural chairman), he was also an Associate Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and a member of the Public Relations Institute of Australia.  Michael is the author and/or editor of eight books, including ‘Why won’t my child listen?’ and the best-selling ‘Toddler Taming’.  He is currently also on the board of the classical music radio station 2MBS, 102.5.

Treasurer - Susan Gosling

Susan Gosling

Treasurer - Susan Gosling holds a PhD in economics from London University. She is Head of Capital Markets Research at MLC and has over 20 years experience in the investment management industry. She has held a number of senior positions and has particular expertise in asset allocation, scenario analysis, and risk management. Susan has broad experience, in private equity as well as listed markets, and has been a director of a number of organisations

Public Officer - Virginia Howard

Public Officer - Virginia Howard served as a Councillor on Mosman Council for 16 years including one year as Deputy Mayor and three years as Mayor.
She has been the Administrator of Mosman Meals on Wheels, the School Projects Officer for the NSW Red Cross, has  taught secondary school English, and more recently undertook community relations and fundraising at Queenwood School and was the Executive Director of the Wenona Foundation.Virginia is also on the Board of UnitingCare Ageing Northern Sydney Region, Mosman Day and Evening College, the Spit Junction Branch of the Bendigo Bank and compiles funding submissions for the Asylum Seekers Centre of NSW. She has a Bachelor of Arts, a Master of Arts (Honours 1) and a Diploma of Education.

General Member - Anne Pender

General Member - Anne Pender retired in 2000, as a partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers, in charge of Change Management and Organisation Development, responsible for around 20 consultants working on major public and private sector projects. She has advised on the people aspects of mergers, commercialisation strategies and systems implementations. Her areas of expertise include performance management and development, employee and community surveys, operational reviews and restructuring and recruitment and counselling.  Anne is an industrial psychologist with a BA and MA(Psych) from Sydney University.
Since retiring, she has worked as a volunteer in the area of disadvantaged young people - mentoring, english tutoring, developing new programs and
evaluating service delivery.

General Member – Valerie Whimp

General Member – Valerie Whimp, a retired corporate HR Director, has over 25 years HR experience in the public and private sectors in Australia and Canada.  Since her retirement she has enjoyed the challenge and diversity of voluntary work. For 8 years she worked with disadvantaged young people at a Northern Beaches youth centre, then led a very successful fundraising team to keep the centre operating. She also served as a voluntary board member at a Community Centre on Sydney's North Shore for 5 years. She is delighted to support Taldumande in the wonderful service it provides to homeless young people and those at risk.

General Member – Kelly Slessor

Kelly Slessor

General Member – Kelly Slessor. As Managing Director of Communicator Interactive, a mobile marketing agency, she has worked with clients including David Jones, Diageo, Rebel Sports and Nova radio to develop and implement marketing campaigns.  She has over 12 years experience in marketing and the telecommunications industry and specialises in technology marketing.  Working for British Telecom in the UK, Kelly held various positions including Product Development, Sales and Marketing. She has a BA (hons) in Marketing and Business.

General Member – Carol Grosskopf

General Member – Carol Grosskopf.  Carol has a broad range of professional experience having worked across the private, public, not-for-profit and academic sectors in a variety of roles. Her experience includes qualitative and quantitative research, risk and project management, information technology and data management. Carol holds a Masters Degree in Sustainable Management through The University of Sydney and a Diploma in Youth in Development from RMIT, Melbourne. Prior to moving to Sydney from Orange she held voluntary positions on the Police and Community Youth Club (PCYC) Community Advisory Board and the Orange Community Kitchen.

General Member – Ward Pollard

General Member – Ward Pollard. Ward is a former Vice President Human Resources at BHP Billiton, where he was responsible for Human Resources Management support to several mining divisions. .
He has experience in mergers and acquisitions, change management, performance management, resourcing, remuneration, succession and career planning and employer/employee relationships..
Ward retired from BHP Billiton in 2006 but continues to work as an Executive Coach in the mining industry and the ‘not for profit’ sector. He was also a member of the Committee of Management of GordonCare in Victoria, a ‘not for profit’ organisation which provides residential and other support for children and families in crisis situations.   He has an Arts degree from Macquarie University, Sydney and an MBA from the University of New England, Armidale, NSW.
